Inspired by Prospect NOLA’s goal of blending the new with the old and connecting people to New Orleans, Grounds of Prospect promotes connectedness among coworkers and floors through a wrapped balcony and multiple double-height spaces around a tiered courtyard. The building’s interior features a 15’ shell surrounding the facade, with open circulation encircling the courtyard. A terracotta shutter system, fixed between polycarbonate panels, wraps the building, allowing for total outdoor circulation and promoting interactions among users. The material palette reflects both the historic character of New Orleans and its evolving downtown. The brick shutter and balcony system evoke the typical New Orleans porch, while the translucent panels reference newer developments like the WWII museum, combining to echo the ongoing dialogue between old and new that defines the city.
